Companion Baking Debuts Three New Menu Items from Collaboration with EverGrain Ingredients at its Retail Café in Ladue

The two St. Louis-based companies have developed three limited-time menu items that use circularly sourced barley ingredients

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (May 18, 2021) –EverGrain, a St. Louis-based producer of barley protein and fiber ingredients, is excited to announce a menu collaboration with Companion Bakery at the Companion Retail Café in Ladue.

EverGrain is a sustainable ingredient company supported by AB InBev that is revolutionizing the use of barley to deliver highly nutritious, great tasting protein and fiber ingredients to the world. EverGrain circularly sourced barley uses innovative processes to capture the full potential of existing barley resources.

EverGrain and Companion Baking began their relationship at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, when the two realized the potential to help local families in need to fill their pantries with high quality, nutritious bread, supplying 1,100 loaves of ancient grain bread for local community food pantries. Now the two companies are creating delicious new menu choices for everyone to enjoy.

Companion’s Innovation Leader Josh Galliano developed the bread and cookie items made with EverVita barley protein and fiber ingredients. These special baked goods will be featured on a limited-time menu including:

  • Daily Soup served with EverGrain Bread: Companion’s housemade soup served with an artisan, ancient grain-based baguette. Soups change daily.
  • “Porky Pig” Sandwich with EverGrain Bread: Companion’s classic “Porky Pig” all-natural smoked pork tossed in barbecue sauce and topped with housemade blue cheese coleslaw will be available on an artisan, ancient grain-based bun.
  • EverGrain Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie: Freshly baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with EverVita flour. This indulgent treat boasts sweet and roasted barley and chocolatey flavors with the benefit of whole grains.

The menu items will be available May 17 through June 6 at Companion’s Ladue Retail Café location at 9781 Clayton Rd.
